When it comes to destroying spam, Bohuno has a great pedigree! Bohuno's dad is a very clever distributed hash sharing service called Pyzor.
Spammers are devious. They know that the anti-spam forces are hunting spam 24/7 so they change tiny parts of spam emails to disguise them and slip them through our defenses. But Pyzor can spot a disguised spam faster than a barber can spot a wig! Pyzor makes digests by creating a SHA1 hash from parts of an email - digests that are fuzzy enough to detect even spam that are only slightly different from their predecessors.
And Bohuno has done Pyzor one better! Bohuno has made available an ISP/remote server that is updated in real time with message digests reported by end users -- real live flesh and blood human beings -- so there are fewer false positives and regular emails don't get reported as spam! Bohuno's ISP version is available to most Linux platforms -- like Ubuntu and RedHat for example. And whereas Pyzor clients communicate with UDP to the servers, Bohuno clients use TCP making the Bohuno client more stable. With Bohuno, there's no more counting the number of times the word "Viagra" appears in an email or training a Bayesian database to recognize spam. (Besides, Bohuno is 60% faster at processing emails than Bayesian and Lexical analysis services are!) Bohuno's plugins click right into any email program or webmail environment. Those Bohuno-connected email systems calculate a digest and verify that against Bohuno servers that then determine whether the email is spam. If it is, then it's zapped to spam hell. Wham, bam, goodbye spam! And of course, Bohuno is content agnostic -- we don't care what the email is about or who sent it. In fact we'll never know - we just calculate a digest that quickly blocks SPAM. With Bohuno it's Privacy 1, Spam 0!
